Explore the concept
Polarization recognizes difference but interprets it through opposing judgments. Defense privileges one’s own group or practices; reversal can idealize another while devaluing one’s own. The stories show how personal pain and social conflict can complicate engagement. Turning to wonder and reflecting on reactions can make room for a less rigid account. This does not ask someone to overlook harm or abandon values. It asks whether a whole group has been reduced to a judgment and whether an actual person’s experience has been heard.
